The 12 Best Personal Finance Books of All Times

(1) Rich Dad‘s Cashflow Quadrant – Robert Kiyosaki

This is a book I wish I have read earlier in my life.  It was a game-changer in my journey to financial freedom.  Prior to starting my own business in Year 2011, I was a time-broke and stressed out corporate employee turned Stay-at-Home-Mom (read my story).

Because of this enlightening international best-selling book, I came to realization of where I was in my life and decided to make a change.  2 days later, I started my first business.  That business went onto bringing in millions of dollars of revenue and helped me become financially free in just 26 months.  Seriously, you can’t afford to miss this book!

(2) Secrets of the Millionaire Mind – T. Harv Eker

This is one of the first personal finance books I read since I started my business in Year 2011. And since then, it has been one of my favorite books of all times (out of the 450+ books I have read in the last 9+ years)!

In this international best-seller, Eker helps us to identify our money blueprint, shatter our limiting beliefs and then re-program new positive and empowering beliefs into our minds so that we can attract more wealth and create more abundance in our life.  Powerful stuff!  It has completely transformed my money mindset.  I have recommended many friends to buy this book.  An absolute MUST HAVE in your library!

(3) The Richest Man in Babylon – George S. Clason

Although this book was first published in Year 1926, many of the core principles written in this book are still applicable today.

In this international best-selling book, Clason offered common sense financial advice through ancient parables.  It offers an understanding and also solutions to many personal financial problems and guide you to your own financial change.  A classic you must read!

(4) Multiple Streams of Income – Robert G. Allen

In this popular book by Allen, he outlines 10 different ways to create residual incomes.

Many of these income streams can be created on a part-time basis from your income, with little money upfront and with no employees.

I have read this book several times already myself.  It is an intriguing and eye-opening book for anyone who wants to achieve financial independence.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

(5) The Parable of the Pipeline – Burke Hedges

I first came across this powerful little book because I saw a short cartoon video about this book on YouTube.  That was the year 2011, and this book has made a remarkable impact on my life.

Through this book, I saw myself trapped in a rat race and realized that I needed a change.  It inspired me to start learning about Personal Finance and to start my own business.  This book is a fun and simple read, and yet with profound impacts.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

(6) Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill

No personal finance book list is complete without this classic.  Over 80 million copies have been sold since it was first published.

In this book, Hill condensed his findings from 20 years of studying 500 successful business people.  He identified and outlined 13 basic principles for success.

This book talks about how our mind has amazing powers and that with the right mindset we can literally think ourselves to riches.  This is a MUST-READ CLASSIC!

(7) 4-Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferriss

WARNING: This book is kind of CRAZY. OK, I must admire that the title of this book was what first caught my eyes.  4-Hour Work Week?  Seriously. But after reading this book, I was intrigued (Warning # 2: You may immediately want to quit your job after reading this book).

Although you may not be able to apply everything in this book (like I said, some of the stuff are pretty crazy and drastic), I am sure this book can totally inspire you and challenge you to do things differently.  It is a fun and super entertaining book to read.  Don’t miss it!

(8) Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert Kiyosaki

My book list would not be complete without this classic!  This #1 international personal finance book of all times has made a huge impact not only on my life, but also on the lives of millions around the World.

Through simple story telling of Kiyosaki growing up with two dads, Rich Dad and Poor Dad, this book challenges conventional thinking about money, education and freedom in many ways.

This is the special 20th year anniversary edition, with NEW updates on what we have seen over the past 20 years (from Year 1997 to today) in regards to money, investing, and the global economy.  A MUST HAVE!

(9) The Automatic Millionaire – David Bach

In this book, Bach talked about a very simple money management strategy – the concept of automation! In other words, setting up to have your income automatically transferred to your investment accounts before you even see it (Pay Yourself First!).  It also outlines several other awesome and yet super simple automation strategies.

The concept of automation is absolutely GOLD! Grab this book, apply these strategies NOW, and see how easy it is for your money to grow.

(10) You are a BadAss in Making Money – Jen Sincero

Be prepared to chuckle and roll your eyes.  This book is candid and super funny.  And if you are like many of us, you will recognize yourself and many of your own money habits in its pages.

The book is based on Sincero’s own personal experiences as she emerged from being broke to living very, very well.  This book uses humor to help you fix the financial habits that hold you back.  It also introduces some simple and easily understandable concepts that will help you improve the way you handle your money. An awesome and fun read!

(11) The Secret – Rhonda Byrne

Although this is NOT strictly a personal finance book, it does have a powerful concept and it illustrates how this concept can help you to improve your wealth, health, relationships and life in general.

As you learn The Secret, you will come to know how you can have, be, or do anything you want and be who you really are.  Definitely a fascinating book to read!

(12) 5 Day Weekend – Nik Halik & Garrett Gunderson

My good friend Howie recommended this book to me, and WOW! I was impressed! I have read many personal finance books in the past, but this book contained many useful and practical tips that I never knew about!  I took lots of notes and are already applying some of them in my life.

An interesting and easy-to-read guide to help you straighten out your finances, keep more money, make more money, and grow more money.  Seriously, this is highly recommended!
