In this blog post, I want to share with you my 9 Best Personal Development Books of All Times.

When I started my first business in year 2011, I also realized that in order to build a successful business and live a fulfilling life, I have to continue to grow myself.  You can read more about my story HERE.

Therefore, reading personal development books quickly became my favorite pass-time activity (reading more than 450+ books in the last 9 years).  Each of these books have impacted my life dramatically.  I have put together this list here and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have.

The 9 Best Personal Development Books of All Times

(1) Start Something That Matters – Blake Mycoskie

I came across this book by accident.  There was one time I was on a long flight, and as I randomly browsed through the audio archives on the plane, the audio version of this book Start Something That Matters caught my eyes.

It was about how Mycoskie started TOMS, a shoe company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a new pair given to a child in need.  One for one.  Today, TOMS is a successful global company and has given out millions of shoes to children in need.  A business that is built on the foundation of making an impact in this World ~ a fascinating and heart-warming book and an awesome inspiration for big-hearted woman like you!

Since then, I have read this book several times.  It has inspired me and made a huge difference in the way I do business.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

(2) Rich Dad‘s Cashflow Quadrant – Robert Kiyosaki

This is a book I wish I have read earlier in my life.  It was a game-changer in my journey to financial freedom.  Prior to starting my own business in Year 2011, I was a time-broke and stressed out corporate employee (read my story).

Because of this enlightening international best-selling book, I came to realization of where I was in my life and decided to make a change.  2 days later, I started my first business.  That business went onto bringing in millions of dollars of revenue and helped me become financially free in just 26 months.  Seriously, you have to get this book!

(3) Secrets of the Millionaire Mind – T. Harv Eker

This is one of the first personal finance books I read since I started my business in year 2011.  And since then, it has been one of my favorite books of all times (out of the 450+ books I have read in the last 9+ years)!

In this international best-seller, Eker helps us to identify our money blueprint, shatter our limiting beliefs and then re-program new positive and empowering beliefs into our minds so that we can attract more wealth and create more abundance in our life.  Powerful stuff!  It has completely transformed my money mindset.  I have recommended many friends to buy this book.  An absolute MUST HAVE in your library!

(4) The Success Principles – Jack Canfield

In this book, Jack Canfield (the co-creator of the best-selling Chicken Soup for the Soul series) helps you get from where you are to where you want to be, teaching you how to increase your confidence, tackle daily challenges, live with passion and purpose, and realize all your ambitions.

Filled with memorable and inspiring stories, it spells out the 64 timeless principles used by successful men and women throughout history – proven principles and strategies that can be adapted for your own life and change your life beyond your wildest dreams.  Highly recommended!

(5) Start with Why – Simon Sinek

I first learned about Simon Sinek from his famous TED talk, it is one of the most viewed TED videos of all times (viewed 6+ million times).

In this enlightening book, Sinek outlines how great leaders communicate in order to inspire everyone to take actions – they start with their WHY.  From Martin Luther King, Jr. to Steve Jobs to the Wright Brothers, Start with Why shows that the leaders who inspire all think, act, and communicate in the exact same way – and it is completely opposite of what everyone else does.  If you want to become an inspiring leader, a better communicator or an influencer, this book is GOLDEN!

(6) Life Lessons from the Monk Who Sold his Ferrari – Robin Sharma

May be you have already heard of Robin Sharma’s bestselling book The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari. And this is the follow-up book of the same series.

The Life Lessons from the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is an easy yet powerful book to read.  It is written like a daily guide to show you important life lessons.  Full of wisdom.  I have read this book many times and my book has highlights and underlines all over it!

Whenever I need a little inspiration or pick-me up, THIS is the book I always go back to.  Browse a few pages and I would instantly feel re-energized.  You will LOVE it too!

(7) The Go Giver – Bob Burg & John David Mann

I picked up this book from a second-hand book fair, and since then it has quickly became one of my favorite books.

Burg & Mann use the parable of an ambitious young man who is desperate to land a key sale at the end of a bad quarter, when he meets a legendary Chairman.  This warm and wise man takes the young guy under his wings, and shows him that by changing his focus from getting to giving, amazing things will come.  An absolutely enlightening read.  Since then, I have recommended this book to many friends who want to build a business that create positive impacts in the World.  HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
